Game of Thrones’ Westeros Comes to the Rescue of Refugees

"Let's come together. Rescue has no boundaries."

Want to attend the season six premiere of Game of Thrones at a party with Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Sansa (Sophie Turner), Cersei (Lena Headey), Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) or others?

For just $US 10 you can get a chance to meet the cast and crew of Game of Thrones while also helping out refugees.

Joining forces with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to raise awareness of the refugee crisis, Game of Thrones’ cast, crew, and producers HBO launched the #RealmToTheRescue campaign.

With more than 60 million people displaced across the globe, and hundreds of thousands continuing to flee every month, the campaign was launched primarily to bring awareness to the plight of Syrian refugees.

“Now is the time,” say various Game of Thrones cast members in a video released by the IRC.

“Rise up, and stand with us,” continue the cast, who also read out details of the refugee crisis.

“Let’s come together. Rescue has no boundaries.”
